Lesson Programs

Spokane Nordic offers child and youth cross-country ski lessons through the six-week Nordic Kids program, a six-week adult intermediate lesson program, and single-day adult intermediate lessons at points during the season.

Nordic Kids

Spokane Nordic Kids offers kids from 5 to 15 years old (age 15 or under on Dec. 31, 2012) and their parents the opportunity to learn, develop, and enjoy cross–country skiing skills together. Parents and other adult volunteers lead groups of kids in fun activities designed to teach the fundamentals of Nordic skiing.

We sort kids into classes by age and ability. Nordic Kids emphasizes all aspects of Nordic skiing, from fun on the snow for the youngest skiers, to technique, backcountry skiing, and racing for the older skiers. For all kids the emphasis is on having fun. Learn more on the Nordic Kids page

Youth Rangers

Youth Rangers is a next step for those who are looking to use their Nordic skiing skills as a base for wider experience in winter survival, ski patrol, ski instruction, and other aspects of Nordic Skiing.

Participants meet for three-hour Saturday morning sessions for 7 weeks. While they will spend a portion of their time enriching their skiing skills, the majority of the program is focused on rescue and aid techniques and back-country survival skills under the guidance of Ski Patrol members, Mt. Spokane Rangers, and other experienced outdoor adventure enthusiasts.

Adult Ski Lesson Program

Spokane Nordic offers a variety of single-day lessons that can be taken as an entire 4-week program if desired, plus the 4-week Gals Get Going women's lesson program.
